Traffic Control / Traffic Management Refresher (Short Term Works)

There are no perquisites for this course.

Applicants must submit Statements of Attainment for the units RIIWHS205E – Control traffic with stop-slow bat and RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plan or equivalent issued within the last three years (or their current traffic control and traffic management tickets/cards/licenses that are expired no more than 3 (three) months’ prior to the course).

Applicants must have a minimum of six (6) months of work experience in the last three (3) years as a Traffic Controller and a Traffic Manager. A self-declaration must be completed by students to record this.

Basic written and spoken English is required to understand road regulations and undertake the assessment tasks associated with these units; language and literacy capacity assessed by completion of enrolment form.

Applicants must also have the physical capacity to meet the requirements of the unit (i.e. carry and handle the stop-slow bats and signages as required).

– Overview of OHS roles and responsibilities

– Site traffic management plans

– Hazard and risk management

– Principles of traffic controlling

– Working with road users

– Prepare to and implement traffic management plans

– Set up signage scheme

– Monitor traffic flow

– Close down

– Storage and maintenance of equipment and signage

This course is run at our Rowville training facility in Melbourne. The is a 1 day course and runs from 8am-4pm for Traffic Control/Management.This course can also be run off-site, on request of the customer. Minimum numbers do apply.
