RIICWD503E – Prepare traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes

This course addresses the competency required to prepare work zone traffic management plans in civil construction. This innovative course provides participants with the opportunity to utilise current industry computer software while learning. The 3-day prepare work zone traffic management plan course in Melbourne has been designed to be fully inclusive, with most participants able to complete all assessment requirements during course time.

Prerequisites

There are no required prerequisites.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must have more than six (6) months’ experience in operational or administrative roles in relation to traffic control or traffic management in Australia (within the last two (2) years). A current letter from the employer confirming the above-mentioned requirements needs to be submitted. A template for the letter will be provided by CTG. A self-declaration is completed by students to record this, if self-employed.

Basic written and spoken English is required to understand Australian Standards, OHS Act and Regulations, Compliance Codes/Codes of Practice and undertake the assessment tasks associated with this unit; language and literacy capacity assessed by completion of enrolment form and LLN test.

Basic computing skills to utilise traffic management plan drawing software such as Invarion.

– Traffic Management Plan softwareThe training program involves attendance and participation in a 3 day workshop. Each workshop is facilitated by a member of our highly experienced training team, and includes trainer presentations, small group work and practical activities – so your participation will be required! Assessment will require satisfactory completion of a written test and major traffic plan project.

Course duration

This course is run the Construction Training Group Rowville training facility in Melbourne on a monthly basis. The prepare work zone traffic management plan course runs from 8am-4pm each day and is a 3-day course.This course can also be run off-site, on request of the customer. Minimum numbers do apply.
