On completion of this 8 hour chainsaw operators course in Melbourne, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to safely start, operate and maintain a hand held chainsaw.
Pre-requisites
There are no prerequisite requirements noted within the training package for these units of competency.
RTO Selection Criteria
Basic written and spoken English is required to understand safety and manufacturer’s instructions, chainsaw operator’s manual, policies and procedures and undertake the assessment tasks associated with this module; language and literacy capacity assessed by completion of enrolment form.
Participants will need to have the physical capacity to undertake the practical components of this cluster.
We run two courses for Chainsaw Operations:
Students with Minimal or No Experienced (Beginner): No additional requirements needed.
Students with Relevant Industry Experience (Experienced): Students that are currently working for at least three (3) months in one or more work settings such as local council, construction, sawmill, forest products factory, timber retail yard or horticultural environment, telecommunications and forestry industry

– Strip and assemble a chainsaw

The chainsaw operators course is facilitated by a member of our highly experienced training team in Melbourne, and includes trainer presentations, small group work, and in class activities – so your participation will be required!
Assessment activities include demonstration of skills and knowledge via a series of practical activities and scenarios.

This course is available to groups of 5 or more at your own premises. Alternatively we run this course at our Rowville facility.
