Did you know that manual handling is the biggest cause of workplace injury in Victoria? Each year, thousands of people are injured as a result of manual handling*. Our Manual Handling Course in Melbourne will equip you with the skills and knowledge that you need to shift loads safely using appropriate manual handling training techniques.
This course is suited to a wide variety of work roles and industries. And also for those individuals who volunteer with organisations such as the CFA, Surf Lifesaving, and sporting clubs.
There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
We run two courses for manual handling:
Students with Minimal or No Experienced (Beginner): No pre requirements
Students with Relevant Industry Experience (Experienced): We require students to hold minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in any role in any industry
Participants will also need to pass a language, literacy and numeracy assessment to assess their capacity to meet unit requirements and have the physical capacity to meet the manual handling requirements of the course units.

– Consequences of poor manual handling
– Types and characteristics of loads, clearances, routes and storage requirements
– Risk factors and common control measures
– Developing a relocation plan and process
– Relocating loads safely, includes team lifting
This highly interactive training program involves attendance and participation in a 4 hour workshop. Each workshop is facilitated by a member of our highly experienced training team in Melbourne, and includes trainer presentations, small group work and practical activities – so your participation will be required!
