Breathing Apparatus
MSMWHS216 – Operate breathing apparatus
Our Breathing Apparatus Training Courses are designed to successfully teach the knowledge and skills to operate and maintain breathing apparatus and equipment in a simulated environment in Melbourne. This course is suited for individuals who are required to enter confined space and operate a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Prerequisites
There are no required prerequisites.
Selection Criteria
In order to avoid common issues experienced around Breathing Apparatus ‘Fit Check’, students are required to make any adjustments to their facial hair prior to attending the training session at CTG. A fit check will be performed on the morning of training in order to determine the capability of the student to achieve a ‘fit check’. If the student doesn’t achieve a satisfactory ‘fit check’ at this time, the assessor will not allow the student to proceed with the practical training and practical assessment for this unit until they make necessary adjustments to their facial hair.
Participants will also need to pass a language, literacy and numeracy assessment to assess their capacity to meet unit requirements.
