This TMI3 Traffic Management Implementers  Course in Melbourne teaches you the skills and knowledge needed to plan, implement, interpret and oversee traffic management plans on motorways, freeways and all temporary traffic management category 3 environments, as outlined in the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management.

This course designed for any individual working or intending to work directly for a Traffic Management Business.

  • Completion of the TMI1 skill set RIISS00060 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads; and
  • at least three months experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the above TMI1 skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace; and
  • providing evidence of relevant experience setting up at least 12 temporary traffic management designs including high speed roads; and at least two of the following design types:
    • pedestrian and cyclist controls
    • construction sites
    • lane closures
    • shoulder closures
    • night works
    • use of portable traffic control devices.

Participants must be able to converse and comprehend basic English. Participants will complete language, numeracy and literacy assessments on course commencement to assess their capacity to meet language requirements.

Applicants must also have the physical capacity to meet the requirements of the unit (i.e. carry and handle the stop-slow bats and signages as required.).

Please ensure you bring your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which should include steel-capped boots, a wide-brimmed hat and pants.

Unit of Competency:

  • RIIBEF301D Run on-site operations
  • RIIWHS305 Implement traffic management plans on motorways and freeways.

Face to Face in the classroom: 1 Day in classroom (This 1 day includes both theoretical learning and theory assessment)

Post - Course Requirements: 

  • Students are required to complete 3 different set-ups relevant to their road type pertaining to a Traffic Management Category 3 environment (2 supervised during work placement and the 3rd will be completed onsite by a CTG assessor at an agreed time).
  • Final assessment / 3rd Set up on a live jobsite site within a 25km radius of CTG

Final assessment is included in course price, No extra hidden assessment fees! 

Note: Practical experience on the job site and final sign off must be completed within 6 months of course.

Construction Training Group has partnered with several traffic management companies, enabling us to offer students the opportunity to fulfil their required log book hours through these partnerships. With the possibility of further work for the right candidates.

Alternatively, students may choose to complete this requirement at their preferred workplace.

Throughout the log book work-placement period, learners must ensure that they supply their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes a UHF radio.
