Project Description

Confined Space Cluster (MEGA)
Enrol Now
The Mega Confined Space Course is CTG’s higher-specification confined-space cluster for workers who operate in utilities, water, civil infrastructure, maintenance, logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, councils, and emergency support settings. It combines eight nationally recognized units into one integrated pathway and is built around practical application in simulated workplace conditions, not just theory delivery. Compared with our Standard initial course, The MEGA course adds formal hazard-analysis and permit-issuing coverage, makes the compliance framework much more explicit, and uses a longer training-and-assessment structure to support deeper operational readiness. The course covers the following units of competency:
- MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis
- MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit
- RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces
- MSMPER205 Enter confined space
- MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres
- PUASAR025 Undertake confined space rescue
- MSMWHS216 Operate breathing apparatus
- MSMPER300 Issue work permits
Plus a complimentary CPR Included! – See course duration section for more information.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisite requirements for the following units:
RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces
MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit
MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres
MSMWHS216 Operate breathing apparatus
There are two separate prerequisite requirements that apply to this course.
- MSMPER300 Issue Work Permits
The unit MSMPER300 Issue work permits has the prerequisite unit MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis.
Students are required to complete pre-study and a knowledge assessment for MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis before attending the face-to-face training sessions.
Students will then attend the remaining training.
The course assessments are structured so that students are assessed and deemed competent in MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis before competency is determined for MSMPER300 Issue work permits.
This ensures MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis is completed before MSMPER300 Issue work permits is issued.
- MSMPER205 Enter Confined Space
The prerequisite unit MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit will be trained and assessed concurrently with MSMPER205 Enter confined space.
This means students do not need to complete MSMPER200 before attending the course. CTG delivers and assesses MSMPER200 as part of the course cluster.
Note:
The following prerequisites only apply to PUASAR025 Undertake confined space rescue in relation to the fire sector.
The fire sector means sections of government departments, statutory authorities or organisations that are responsible for the delivery of firefighting and fire management services.
Individuals working within the fire sector, or individuals completing PUASAR025 as part of a fire qualification, must hold the following prerequisite units before PUASAR025 can be issued:
PUAFIR306 Identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident
PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation
These prerequisites do not apply to all students. They only apply to students working within the fire sector, or students completing PUASAR025 as part of a fire qualification.
